Hi! im new to the forums but i do have a very important question to pose for anyone who will answer...... Well first ill start with background info. This year was my junior year in highschool but i decided to leave early for a community college. The main reason was that i had to work many hours at work, usually late into the night, i had to pay the bills since i only live with my mom and she is a compulsive gambler... Another main reason was i was so tired from work i found my gpa suffering baddly, i knew it was impossible to get into any 4 year institution.so i left and right now im doing very well 4.0 this semester (hopefully), next semester i start a round of science classes, bio, chem, physics etc... To prepare for my bio major. but in any case if i kept my GPA up and transfered to UCSD and kept my grades up their is it even possible for me to get into a medical school? Are they going to look at my time at community college and just pass me on?once again thankyou for reading and leave any opinons on my question that you have. THANKS!

I think you have a good chance if you've had a consistently good GPA throughout community college. It's actually a pretty common thing to do here, to go to the local comm. college for 2 years and transfer to a UC. Nobody's ever mentioned that it might be harder to get into med school after taking this route.

hey thanks a lot i was just really worried, im doing fairly well this semester and hopefully when i transfer i will still have a 4.0.... i was just wondering because med school is so competive in the first place, so i thought i would be at a extreme disadvantage.
