Hi, I'm applying for college as a freshman for the fall of 2014. I took a course in Physics at my local community college and was wondering if I needed to send my official transcript for that community college to all the colleges I'm applying to. Or can I just wait until I decide which I want to go to and just send the transcript to that one college. Would having the transcript (and the A I got in the course) sent in affect my college admissions?

You had better check each college and email if necessary. It is possible you would be considered a transfer some places if you took this after graduation. In any case, I think you are required to send all transcripts from any school you have attended. If you have any doubts, email admissions at each college you are applying to.

Edit to add: come to think of it, this came up recently and entomom (super moderator) confirmed that you are required to send from any institution you attended. You say one class and A but how do they know that, right?

Yes, you need to send transcripts from all colleges attended when the school you are applying or admitted to wants them.

As noted above, unless the college course was taken before you graduated from high school, some schools may disqualify you from frosh admission, requiring you to apply as a transfer.

Oh, I took the course as a senior in high school (so this past semester). I would need to send in official transcripts to each college I applied to, right? Just like the SAT score reports? And do University of California schools count as one, or would I need to send in transcripts to each
