I failed a pre calc 1 class Math 41 at De Anza College in my winter quarter and besides this F I have perfect 4.0s in all my other classes, I just got dropped from this class and gave up because it was past W deadline and the teacher was just rude and I didn't want to deal with it. anyways my question to you is I'm planning on retaking this class (different teacher for sure) summer quarter but people tell me that when you apply for colleges next year they don't look at summer quarter grades. IS this true? also people tell me they look at everything you've done before you applied for college which summer quarter ends before I apply, so which one is true? I'm planning on attending a UC or CSU if that helps. THANKS!!

What’s gonna happen is, you will apply in November with all grades including the Summer ones. After your Winter quarter ends, you will go online and update your grades on the UC application website. They will base their decision off everything including that winter quarter.

To answer your other question: If you retake the course, the new grade will replace the F for the UC GPA (CSU should be the same).

alright thanks!!!
