Community College Transfer Question

Ok I'm not sure if this has been asked before or not because I'm new here, but oh well.

I'm a junior in high school and my GPA is terrible (2.3). But in the last couple months I've turned it around and I'm doing a lot better in school now.

My plan is to go to community college for 2 years, actually try and do good, then transfer to a university.

So my question is, if I go to community college for 2 years, would I have to send them my high school transcript?

I'm not sure if this is possible or not, but my goal now is to go to Michigan State, and obviously my high school grades don't meet their standards. I've heard that if you get around 28 credits in college you don't have to send them your transcript from H.S. but I'm not sure if that's true.

They do see your high school transcript, it’s just that they don’t really place that much importance on it if you stay for 2 years at a CC. If, however, you stay for a year, well, they look at it more closely. Don’t worry about your high school transcript so long as you do well in CC.

@nathan7856- If you want to transfer to Michigan State, even though I am positive that Spartans taste like chicken, I will point you in the correct direction.
According to MSU:

Transfer students are required to have:

Completion of one year of English composition equivalent to Michigan State’s Writing, Rhetoric and American Cultures course Writing: Science and Technology (WRA 110). This equivalent must be completed at least one full semester before the desired term of enrollment at MSU

Completion of a math course equivalent to MSU’s Intermediate Algebra (MTH 1825) course or higher; College Algebra (MTH 103) is preferred. This equivalent must be completed at least one full semester before the desired term of enrollment at MSU

The above requirements alone do not guarantee admission; consideration is stronger for applicants who have completed:

28 or more credits deemed transferable to MSU (students with fewer than 28 transferable credits must have official ACT or SAT testing information sent to our office, along with an official final high school transcript)

3.0 GPA or higher, with consistent grade performance

Requirements for limited enrollment majors where necessary

This information is found at: [Transfer Admission Criteria - Admission | Michigan State University Office of Admissions](http://admissions.msu.edu/admission/transfer_criteria.asp)

So get 1 year at a CC and take 15 credits a semester (would give you 30 credits total), have a GPA over 3.0, and they will never see your HS records unless you send them, MSU won’t even ask for them.

BTW GO BLUE!!!

Alright thanks for the help you guys
