I just got accepted into UCLA, which I was excited but scared about at the same time.
My major is art history but I don't want to go just because it is expected of me. My original college that I decided on was UCSD because my friends were going and I love the area.

What to do, if my major is Art History and want to someday curate a museum exhibition?

What is the best choice for me academically and for my future if it means stepping out of my comfort zone?

Part of college is discovering who you are and what possibilites exist for your future. Once you are at UCLA you will be exposed to so much. Your advisor in your major and the department it is in will have a lot of information for you, including good courses to take and job opportunities once you graduate. Most college freshmen are either undecided or change their major once they start college. Your community college experiences may have reinforced your major plans or you may change them once exposed to the wider world of UCLA.

Don’t worry about next fall. Don’t worry about expectations of others or your own. Embrace the new experience- have a positive attitude and enjoy the experience. Your comfort zone will change with your college experiences and you will learn what best suits you. Do not be afraid to explore courses not available in your past school and to change your major. A lot will become clear to you once you are on the campus.
