Community College Transfer

So, I’m currently a Community College transfer looking to transfer to schools in California.

I took a college class in high school for no reason and received a really bad grade. I decided to head into community college after high school. Thus far, I have a 4.0, but the poor grade I received in a course I took in the same community college lowered my GPA to a 3.9.

Are colleges really going to hold that bad grade against me, especially since I took that particular college course in high school with no intention of using it to transfer. It was a course that is not related to my major whatsoever.

I’m worried because I really want to get into Berkley’s Haas School of Business and that school is really competitive to get into. I only know of transfer students with 4.0’s getting into that program.

Thanks.

Can you retake the class? Will you be allowed to do grade replacement? What grade did you get?

Are you instate for Calif?

@mom2collegekids I received a D+ and then I retook and got a B-. Transferring to Berkley, anything lower than an A is going to affect me. I just hope since I took this class in high school with no intention of using it as transfer credit or anything, that they don’t consider this class. Yes I live instate!
