Hey people, I am a pre-biology major that just finished my 2nd year of college at UCSB and I still have a lot of GE's to complete and I'm pretty sure I won't be graduating within the regular 4 years. In addition to this, I wasn't able to get the classes I need for my major this upcoming quarter (trimester) of school. Therefore I thought that it might be a good idea to take a break from the UC and spend a year or a semester at a community college (the CC I might attend is ranked one of the best in Caifornia/USA). I would be taking GE's at the CC. Also, since I left the UC in good academic standing, my return to UCSB is pretty much guaranteed, according to its advisers.

However, my concern in all this is whether this will look bad in any application I make to Med school or grad school. Any advice that any of you have regarding whether temporary break/transfer would be a stain on my curriculum/academic resume? I need to know as soon as possible. Thanks, I appreciate it!
