Community College

Which Community College classes is everyone taking? My GC recommends that I take either Psychology or Sociology, but I can't decide. Then I became curious as to what everyone else is taking.

I'm taking Calc III and Differential Equations, but only because I have completed all the possible math classes at my school. I'm not taking them for "enrichment" persay.

Uh, for summer I'm taking: General Chemistry 1, General Chemistry 2, Physics 122: Electricity and Magnetism (calc-based), and PE. The chem sequence is accelerated (four weeks for each), but covers just a little less than AP Chem. So, should be pretty intense.

Dang two chem classes!!! I'm going to take Statistics. But my school has AP Stats though so I don't know if I should take it. Also I want to take like Psychology or Philosophy, but I'll take it next semester.

I'm scared of that chem sequence. Spanish 103-202 (schedule problems at hs, and a much better teacher), Java programming, and Flash Web Design

I'd go with psychology... I personally think its better than sociology... but I'm not really a group-type person to begin with.

Guys, how do you take classes in CC? Is it like you leave school college/early and go to college/school or another way?

They are a few different ways you can take classes at a CC, and they depend on how your school operates. Some schools have dual enrollment programs which allow a student to leave their highschool campus early to attend day classes at a local CC.

Other ways you can take a CC class is by taking it at night or online (depending on what type of classes the CC offers) --both can be used to supplement a full schedule at your own highschool.

And depending on which state you live, you may not even have to pay any money for the classes (In Florida, highschoolers can attend community college for free!)

This is the first time I'm taking a CC class, so I wouldn't know. It seems like a lot of people take math or science based classes. My HS offers math up to Stats AP and science every year, so I don't need them. I don't think that pursuing any particular interest would help, so my GC said just to take GE classes.
