Community College?

Hi guys,

I recently went to NIU and talked with an admissions counselor there and she was talking about possibly going to community college and transferring to a state school from there. I'm wondering how this looks to prospective employers? Say I went to community college, got my associates in something business related and transferred to UIUC/ISU/NIU to get my bachelors. I'm confused as to how this works and how my resume would end up looking. Is this worse than getting a bachelors from those colleges without the associates? Please explain!

It should probably be noted that I'm not looking at community college because my grades are poor (they are very good). It's more of a finance thing.

Thanks!

From my basic understanding, employers do not typically care that you went to a community college before going to another school. However, you need perform well once you get there.

I think that getting a bachelors from UIUC/ISU/NIU (even if you went to a community college) looks better than getting a bachelors from other colleges that don’t offer AA
