Community Colleges in the same school district and sending transcripts

You know how after being accepted we're supposed to mail our transcripts to the university we choose to go to. If you took classes at 2 community colleges in the same district (Foothill/De Anza, LACC/Pierce, etc), would you have to request to send a transcript from BOTH colleges or just one of them? I know that some colleges have transcripts that list the classes you took at ALL the colleges in that particular school district (requesting a transcript from Foothill will also show the classes that you took at De Anza). I ask this because it would be a bit of a hassle and a waste of money to request two colleges in the same school district to each send out a transcript when you can just have one college send it out and still list all the classes you took at the other college.

anyone that was in a similar situation before have an answer? thanks

De Anza and Foothill don’t list each other’s classes, unfortunately. I tried the same thing lol. So you’ll have to buy those separately.

But the first 2 you request from each school are free (if you’ve never ordered one before).

Even if you had transferred any classes from one CCC to another, you would still need both transcripts. I had coursework from three CCCs and had transferred classes from two of them to the one I officially transferred from, but I still was required to send in all three transcripts.

Oh I thought Foothill/De Anza would list all the classes you took at both colleges if you were to request a transcript from either one of them. I know that Chabot/Las Positas does this. I guess it would make sense to send one from each college to the UCs.

The two CCCs I mentioned were also in the same district. I had to request from both of them to transfer the classes to my third CCC (for IGETC certification purposes). I then had to request from them again as well as my third CCC when I was transferring to UCSC. So a total of five transcripts just to transfer. Six if you count my high school transcript that UCSC also requested. Two to get my IGETC certification (for transfer) and three (or four if counting the high school transcript) directly to the UC.

Order well enough in advance so you can take advantage of cheaper (or free if available) transcript offerings. If you wait too late, you’ll have to rush them which really adds up.

San Diego Community College District lists all three of their schools on the same transcript. It must depend on the district.

Yeah, De Anza and Foothill are in the same district but don’t cross-list the classes on their transcripts. -_- It really sucked when I had to order them for private apps.

My experience has been that even if the CCCs list courses from all CCCs in their district, the UCs will still want transcripts from all colleges you attended. It does not matter what the district does. It matters what the UCs want. You just do what they ask exactly how they ask it. If it turns out one transcript will work, wonderful! But it’s always better to prepare yourself for the worst.
