Hello, I was recently told that I need more Community Service, and it should be in an area where I am interested in and might apply to a college major. What communtiy service could I do for a possible Business or Economics major?

You are the recipient of mistaken knowledge. No college requires any comm svc. No college requires voluntarism related to a possible business major.

If you have a heart for problems in your community, without regards to your college app resume, then sniff out those opps and go lend a hand. The need for willing help is CERTAINLY there. You don’t have to do it to enhance your pre-business chops or your pre college readiness, however.

(Gibby’s two kids are at Yale and Harvard, BTW)

But to answer your question: try these

1) nursing home
2) boys & girls club
3) homeless shelter/women’s shelter
4) food pantry or goodwill/salvation army (needs help sorting donated clothes)
5) community clinic

Also does your school have some sort of service club? That also might help you.

Start an organization that provides community service.

With that you can manage finances and an organization that also helps out your community in some way you choose.

Thanks guys, appreciate the help
