Community Service Question

Alright, I seriously do A LOT of community service. Weather it be helping out at certain walks for awareness, the little league concession stand, tutoring, camps, etc etc etc its A LOT! I've been doing this since before I even knew it could help me out with college so here's my question;

should i keep a log or something and have people sign it with the amount of hours or something to have some proof of service? I don't know, some people I think I'd feel bad having them sign it...I don't want them to think I'm only there for the hours, not the purpose.

Suggestions?

Colleges don't require you to provide that proof. If you are well-known for how much community service you do, it might be mentioned in your teachers' or counselor's letters of rec. If it's the thing at your school to provide a "brag sheet" for your teachers to help them write your letters, you could use that opportunity to ask them to mention your work, but this might be a little crass. And of course if you write something about your work in an application essay, it might prove or at least bolster your commitment to the cause(s), and it would show colleges that you got something out of your work other than a fat lot of hours to record on your college application.

thanks!

anymore suggestions? I really don't need any proof (for the smaller things)? I mean, some of the bigger things like me organizing certain events will have proof but just the smaller stuff, nothing? Wow, I don't know what I'm saying right now...ok...
