My dream school is Georgetown and I know they LOVE community service which works in my favor since I just so happen to have lots of it, and my school requires 40 hours a year for graduation. So far in my community service profile I have volunteer hours at my local animal shelter, I am the VP for my Relay for Life team (a cancer research organization), I am in Room to Read, a club in my school that is affiliated with the much larger national charity that donates books to libraries in third-world countries, I am also involved in shelters and midnight run projects. I love doing community service, is this sufficient enough though or should I become involved in more?

Georgetown is a college, not a proving ground for activists and event planners. The MOST CRUCIAL evaluation facotr you have will be your 3.5 UW GPA. And you’ve not taken your tests yet. You should frankly cut out a ton of your vol hours and focus on your GPA and your test scores.

They will determine what schools accept you – not 120 or 2000 vol hours. That’s immaterial and you’re wrong that GTown is going to just scoop you in b/c of your voluntarism. That’s considered AFTER you show yourself to be a superior scholar.
