community service..

how do you guys do this? i mean do you actually go there and ask people if you can do service or not....or do you ask counselor to do things...

I just do stuff, usually because of commuity servicve club requirements. Tomorrow I'm going to go to Habitat for Humanity because I need to do stuff outside of school for my probation. You just show up for that.

A lot of times you can just sign up or groups come to school looking for volunteers.

........i dont understand...
doesnt that make lots of people lie about service..since its almost impossible to find out its true or not...?
i thought it would be like go to library and ask "can i volunteer???" and then do stuff..
i dont know...

Well, at my school, it's a requirement that you have to complete 70 hours by the time you graduate. We have to contact the agency ourselves and every time we finish our hours, the supervisor at that agency will sign our service timecard, which we turn in at school to prove that we did complete service hours.

Find a list of community service agencies. They can be for the visually impaired, the elderly, the youth, the socio-economic disadvantaged, etc. Working at any of these places is community service. You can ask your counselor for assistance. Look online, too. There are a lot of opportunities in Sacramento, considering that it is the state capital. There are government-oriented events that you can be active in.

yea...asking counselor is the one for me i think...thanks//

Anytime .

In my city they have a Youth Volunteer Corps, where everything is centrally organized. It's pretty awesome.
