I’ve been doing a lot of community service lately and I was wondering if I should be getting proof of this or is reporting community service based on the honor system? Thanks in advance!

To get my Nomination, I included the app as well as letters of recommendation from those who I volunteered for.

Not exactly sure about the Academy itself.

When you actually apply to the Academy (are you a junior?), there is an online form that you must fill out about your various activities. On that form, you include your community service, and the Academy forwards the information you submit onto your school counselor, who then verifies that everything is accurate. At least, I believe that's how it worked out for me. :) Keeping a personal record of your community service is always a good idea though.

I'm actually a freshman in college and most of my community service has been done lately. Therefore, my high school counselor has no clue of what I've been doing, besides applying to the academy.
