<p>Not necessary. For the few schools that care a lot about ECs, CS is just one of many valuable activities.</p>
<p>Community service is just like any other extracurricular…Mu Alpha Theta, Debate, Key Club, etc. If you have it, hopefully it was a dedicated commitment and not a transparent attempt for application padding. If not, don’t worry about it and focus on your other ECs.</p>
