Well?

i would say somewhat

Is it possible to live in the Valley and drive to USC for classes?

Somewhat? Hmm. I guess mostly I've been looking at residential colleges where freshmen without cars is the norm, but I'm getting the impression that USC is not exactly like that...which is kinda a turn-off...because coming from Maryland and having to take out massive loans if I decide to go USC, I definitely won't be commuting and probably won't have a car for most of my time there!

You can take the metro and use the bus system. Public transportation isn't very good in SoCal.

From all I've heard, there are a lot of students that live on or near campus & there is definitely a "campus life" at USC. On campus housing is promised for 2 years beginning this year for all incoming freshmen who request it.

Most freshman don't have cars and live on-campus, and most of the rest live close (i.e., walking distance) near campus

Sure usc has a large minority of commuter students. doesn't mean you have to be one.

Yep, there are people who do it. I strongly recommend no, though, a commute over an hour each direction would probably be too much. If you plan to do it make sure you know what you're getting in to.

I plan to drive because housing is too expensive and I'm already overloaded with loans. Will I still be able to participate in the "campus life" and such?

wow im from maryland too, this is the first time that i've met someone from the east coast in the usc cc forums. are you from montgomery county?

Hey, I'm right near you...I'm from Fairfax County, across the river!

I'm from Howard County...not too far from Montgomery or Fairfax (my parents work in McLean).

^ Now back to the original topic... :)

Well, the original topic was mine, and then you hijacked it fool. So ****. Nah, jk. Haha :D.
