Which schools are rated most favored?
Among all the csus
Right now I’m deciding between CPP and SJSU, I’m hearing CPP is a commuter school and there isn’t much campus life. Which do you think I’d enjoy more like have a better “college experience” I like that CPP is in socal but it’s in the middle of no where what can I do there if that’s the case ?
I suggest you visit the schools and see for yourself. Both schools are consired commuter schools. CPP is a suburban campus surrounded by many nice residential communities. It is within 1 hr driving distance of the City of Los Angeles. Within 30-45 mins from Beaches and Mountains. It definitely not in the middle of nowhere.
College decisions are personal so it is hard to recommend which school unless you setup a tour and visit the area.
Both have a commuter school rep - but thousands of students live on and adjacent campus. So, though they aren’t in a college town like Davis, Chico or SLO there is plenty of College Experience to be had. You just have to work a little harder to find it. That’s true of both schools. @gumbymom is right, you need to spend some time on both campuses, talk to some existing students and see where you think you will fit.
The good news is, you are choosing between two very good options - so, don;t spend much time worrying about what you might miss on the other campus after you decide.
Good luck
My recommendation is that you visit San Luis Obispo and check out the other Cal Poly campus.
If you do this, you will notice that SLO is about 200 miles from the nearest big city (LA), and is about 100 miles from even a medium-sized city (Santa Barbara). Then you will understand what being “in the middle of nowhere” really means, and CPP’s location will suddenly look much more attractive by comparison.
Wait I’m confused. Isn’t OP referring to CPP Cal Poly Pomona?
Yes, he is. But the OP has a concern about CP-Pomona: he thinks that it is in “the middle of nowhere”.
And that is why I am recommending that he visit CP-SLO (“the other Cal Poly campus”). That way, the OP can learn what “in the middle of nowhere” actually means, and then CP-Pomona’s location may seem more desirable.
Oh Ok I just wanted to clarify
