<p>SBU is my first choice but I heard about it's large population of commuters which I find really unappealing as I want the 'college experiance'. What percent or number of students would you say are commuters?</p>
<p>and does the school really die down on the weekends cause partying is deffinitly a necessity for my school.</p>
<p>A lot of the data I found online says 50%, but when I went they said at the info session that it was more like 75% staying on campus. The tour guide said its 60% on. But if you think about it, it is such a big school that even if half the people leave, there will be a lot of people around.</p>
<p>I believe the number is actually around 60% overall, and over 90% of our freshmen live on campus.</p>
