Commuters Unite!

w00t! the love of metro transit!

I had to commute for 5 years of high school and then 2 years of CEGEP (similar to community college, but obligatory in my province). It took me 1 hour each way, so that was 2 hours lost per day sitting on a bus/subway! Since my classes usually started at 8 or 8:30AM, I had to wake up around 6:30AM every day... -__-'

At first I didn't mind much, but it really took its toll on me this year.... SO glad to be living on campus this fall... I'll just roll out of bed and step into class. ^^

commuting WOO WOO

I'm a commuter too. I'm only 2 and a half or so miles away from campus so I can leave 12 minutes before a class starts and still get there with time to spare--and that's accounting for moderate traffic and going exactly the speed limit (which I do all the time).

With my close proximity to campus as well as the fact that I hate college life in general it's only logical that I commute in my Volvo every day.

Speaking of Volvo, what are you folks commuting in? Mine's a 1996 Volvo 850 sedan which used to be my grandparents. It's only got 66K on the odometer and all of my commutes are pretty short around town so I probably won't break the 100K mark for another 7-8 years! Plus it's a Volvo so it will run forever!!! (I've heard of Volvos with 350K+ still running great)

It does need 91 octane fuel, but I'd rather spend an extra $50 per year on gas than drop $5000 on an engine rebuild from using improper fuel.

Woo hoo! I drive 20 minutes to a park-n-ride, and then ride the bus for another 20 minutes to campus... unless it's snowing-- then it takes and hour and a 15 minutes.

It's nice though... I can actually keep my car living where i am (parking at my uni, or anywhere close to my uni, will cost you a kidney)... then I can actually have a job off-campus. It's all good.

full tuition minus dormitory

am i cheap or what? 2 hr train ride. 4 hr total daily

planning on looking into dorms during the spring
