Can anyone comment on employment opportunities for CS students from Case ? D has been accepted but hesitant about ability to get internships, and ultimately employment offers here, vs. other more recognized schools in field (e.g. Cornell and Berkeley).

This report has some interesting info:

Thank you, LonestarMR. Are there any current Case CS students or recent grads who can comment on the ease of securing a relevant internship ?

My son has an internship this summer as a first-year student. He had two interviews and one offer. You might check out the CWRU Hacker Society website for resumes. It gives you a good idea of the internships, research projects current and past students have done. <a href=“Résumés of Hacker Society Members”>http://hacsoc.org/resumes/.

DRDM37, thanks for that link.

I wish that I felt more confident in the program still. Not that I put a lot faith in rankings, but USNWR ranks the program somewhere in the 80s ?

For what it is worth- 4 years from now who knows what the job market will be. To some extent the reputation of the school counts, but what is more important is what the student did during college. Case has a very strong network for internships.

I agree with laurapb23 that it’s important what the student did in college. Here is another thread with some info: <a href=“Comp Sci - #4 by NerdyDrew - Case Western Reserve University - College Confidential Forums”>Comp Sci - #4 by NerdyDrew - Case Western Reserve University - College Confidential Forums. Also, CS students are encouraged to get involved with Blackstone Launchpad, and can get help with their projects: http://cwru.thelaunchpad.org/.
