I've recently been accepted to CW. and plan to major in Comp Sci. I went to the admitted students visit but I had a feeling from the professor there that comp sci is just an after thought for the engineering department. Is there anyone at cw currently in comp sci that could comment on this? I know cw is good for engineering but would you recommend for comp sci?

Here is information about how Case CS Graduates do after college:

Interesting read, was suprised google and microsoft hired graduates that early.

I am a first year Computer Science major at Case, and so far I would recommend it. First semester, I took EECS 281 (Logic Design & Computer Organization) and I’m now taking EECS 233 (Data Structures). I’ve learned loads from both classes. Both are/were fairly large (around 100 students), but it’s easy to stand out if you sit near the front and attend office hours. Subsequent CS classes will definitely be smaller. Also, Case is adding a Data Science major next year [1], so you’ll be able to take some classes there or double major if that’s where your interests lie. Overall, I’ve heard that Case’s CS degree is highly theoretical, but it’s still easy to get internships (I myself have one lined up for the summer).

Outside of class, there are two student-run groups that I’d recommend to any CS major. Our chapter of ACM (Association for Computing Machinery) hosts a conference every year. This year we had speakers from Google and Microsoft, among others [2]. Hacker Society is a group that gives tech talks every Wednesday night. The speakers are usually students, but also include alumni and local business leaders. You can see their past talks here [3].
