I've heard appointees claiming to know their company and platoon assignments already. How would one find that out?

According to the information in my permit to report package, we find out on Iday.

"On I-Day, you will receive your mail box number, Company, and Platoon assignements..."

I havent heard anything about my specific assignments, but it'd be neat to know.

Yeah I read the same thing you did. I talked to a current plebe and he said he heard in May but I've been hearing from guys who say they already know.

Last year the company assignments were received the week before I-Day.

we got the Company assignments in early June - with information on things like how to send mail and the paperwork with the Orders to Report.

And a reminder that typically the Plebe Summer company assignments start with a letter - then a number. You only use the letter for those 6 weeks - and the NUMBER will be your assigment once the Brigade reforms come August.

So it's important to tell people your full address for summer mail - with the letter designation and come the fall you only use the P.O Box number and don't even need to write the company, although you could.

In my Plebe's case she was M-24....so now she is simply in 24 company. M Company in Plebe summer consisted of both 23 and 24....and they split into separate companies come the academic year.

^^^^

I looked at the letter last night and it was addressed to the "parents of" and was dated on June 20th.

We did get the alpha number earlier in the information that contained our parents pass. (your alpha number will be a part of your e-mail address)

another question a little off topic.....did any one try accessing the permit to report packet online via CIS? I have tried clicking on it and have been getting a forbidden message.

same deal here with the packet online.

^^^^Same message.

dritchey- im pretty sure those guys on the facebook group are current mids//and our plebe summer cadre

so am i. its hard to tell who's who on there anymore.

yeah it definitely went from friendly talk & advice between 'plebes to be' to c/o 2011 bashing...

its ridiculous...haha its april and they're already giving people a hard time

i don't blame 2008 for everything they say on there. it may just be me but it seems like every single person who says something on there from 2011 must not have thought for one second about what they were about to get into.

i convinced the creater to make it private and now he thinks hes just going to make a new group and just forget about the old one all together. Its funny if you look at the group members at least 70 percent are current mids. obviously not a c/o 2011 group

looks like everyone on the facebook group is jumpin ship (including me) i recommend anyone else on it to leave also, i read on one of the other facebook groups that the upperclassmen are printing off lists of the people in them.

they probably already have the list from our old group. i noticed the jump ship too. i did it about two days ago after i realized things were getting out of hand and there was no point in it. there's no way to stop upper class from getting in the group anyway. they just make up a fake profile and they're in.
