How would you compare Boston University campus community to other universities such as: University of Michigan, Minnesota, Iowa etc… and privates such as USC, GWU, and NYU. One concern I have about BU is its campus community, with ideals that most students vanish within the city and hudge lack of campus community as compared to public universities and other privates.

i don’t know any of those other schools’ campuses, but BU’s is in boston but along the street of comm ave where we own essentially every building for a good 1.5 mile stretch or so. so every person you see walking around is, for the most part, affiliated with bu. you don’t get lost in the city because we are removed from the main part. if you look at an mbta map, the stops of kenmore through babcock street encompass the majority of the campus

Thanks for the reply

According to:[Boston University Maps](<a href=“Boston University”>Boston University), google map definately made the campus look smaller as if the school only owned 5 buildings.

^Haha, that’s not true at all. If you go from the eastern most part of campus to west campus, it’s about a 1-2 mile stretch.

Here’s a much better map that will give you an idea http://www.bu.edu/dbin/infocenter/visit/maps/campus/map-highlight.pdf

Honestly though, you really need to visit to see if you’ll like it. It’s very different than a traditional college campus. If you’re not a city person, you won’t like it.

From what I’ve seen so far campus definately is larger than I thought. I was only looking at the brown shaded on google map as its campus.

As for city person, well I like city and nature and virtually NYC fits that ( but ofcourse San Francisco better, besides historical stuff), on the plus side Boston is one of my favorite cities.
