Maryland is in state. Double legacy at UVA. I am planning on being a business major. I'm a junior so I haven't even thought about applying so of course this is all preliminary but I'm looking for any information about the schools that could influence my decision. I've only visited UVA and enjoyed it greatly. Thanks!

^how did your response help the OP in any way??

Well I am a junior also and UVa is one of my top choices. From what I know, UVa has the best undergrad program out of the three that you listed and it helps that you are a double legacy. Although as you may alredy know, McIntire starts your third year if you are admitted (there is a chance that you may not), but if admitted into the other schools, you would start in the business school from your first year. Why USC out of these three (although the Trojan network is extensive, it is most certainly stronger on the West Coast, which is great if you would like to work on the west coast)??

It does have the best business program of the three. What would you take your first two years at UVA though? Also, what happens if you don’t get accepted into McIntire? Wouldn’t it be too late for another major?

USC is my choice if I want warmer weather and if I want to go further away.

That was a bad way to put it. USC is totally different from UMD and UVA so I have decided to visit to see if that is what I’m looking for. How about that, Mr. Barrons?

The first two years at UVa, if you are trying to get into McIntire, you are in the College of Arts and Sciences on the precomm track taking the prereqs needed to get into McIntire (unless you place out of some of them with AP credits). Usually, people say that a gpa of 3.4 and good grades in the prereq classes like econ 201/202 and com 180 etc would give you a solid chance (since the acceptance rate is something like 60%), but with the recent attention like from businessweek, competition may become more stiff. If you weren’t accepted into McIntire, its not too late to major in somethin else you would usually major in economics or something else and make sure to network on your own and at career fairs so that you could end up with a great job like the other comm kids.
