Recently I've been thinking about adding an all women's college to my list. The two schools that caught my attention were Sweet Briar College and Spelman College. Yes I am aware that Spelman is a HBCU. As of yet I'm not quite sure if I want to apply to either of them , but I was hoping for some more information on both of these schools. What are the academics, student/campus life, sports like at these schools ? I also heard that Sweet Briar has a lot of preppy rich girls who attend there. Is the same said about Spelman ? Any insight on these two schools would be more than helpful. Please and thank you.

Spelman is prestigious among HBCU schools. But its also urban. Sweet Briar is rural.

Nothing wrong with either. But a different culture. Not sure how diverse Sweet Briar has become. Look into that.

Look at Bridgewater College as well. Its christian, but not forced on anyone. Its also co-ed, but small. Good academics for the disciplined student. And some good sports.

In the end, its up to you and your feelings after you visit schools. I never recommend picking a school sight unseen.

Its okay to “think outside the box” and explore ideas and such…so long as you are open to that and not a tight conformist.

Sweet Briar girls date a lot of Hamden Sydney boys I am told.

lol.

White girls with black maids versus black girls with Hispanic maids.

You could try asking this in the Womens Colleges sub-forum. I expect that the people there would have more ideas for you.
