Which college you recommend for an entering engineering freshman female. University at Buffalo, Clarkson University or University of Pittsburgh. Assume that they cost the same.

I would say, Pitt > Buffalo > Clarkson. I would say Buffalo and Pitt are on par except for the fact that Pitt has a valuable Co-Op program compared to Buffalo’s, not so authentic Co-Op program.

What about these schools?

Rensselear Polytechnic Institutute(RPI)
The University of Texas(UT)
Case Western Reserve University(CWRU)
Texas A&M
Oklahoma State University(OSU)
Rose-Hulman Institute of Technology(RHIT)
University of Tulsa(TU)
Worcester Polytechnic Institute(WPI)
Rochester Institute of Technology(RIT)
Colorado School of Mines(CSM)
Clarkson University

Freshsenior and Blizzblazer Thanks! My D was accepted at RPI w/ $27000 in scholarships and grants leaving $7500 in loans and $. 23000 more due in cash. Bit much. So we are looking so far at colleges that came back with a cost we can afford. We are waiting to hear from VT, Lafayette College in PA, University of Rochester, accepted at NC State, and were wait listed by Lehigh. D won’t concider going west of the PA Ohio boarder so that puts some of the ones mentioned out. NC State and VT expect their financial information not to come out until mid april. Not a lot of time before the May 1 deadline. So money does play a factor. UB , Clarkson, Pitt have all met our EFC as well. Were as RPI is $15000 over. It’s to late now to add any new app’s for fall 2011. Any one have opinions on any of these schools for engineering. RIT was out because they don’t offer an engineering degree in civil engineering.
