I know this thread has been outta circulation for awhile (especially after all of posts by Plato/Socrates). Anywho, so I was talking to my friend (Candidate 1), and she finally got her SAT scores: 2050 (including writing, which also went for Candidate 2's previously mentioned score). They both called me to ask me who won, so I guess before I tell them I wanted to get a final opinion. (Oh, and since I can't edit, I made a mistake. Candidate 1 will be President, not VP, of Key Club next year).

Any last thoughts?

This is why Harvard can boast they reject so many vals. Candidate 1 has a reasonable shot at Ivies with a 2050 and Candidate 2 can pretty much forget it. Oh yeah, getting 3's on AP exams in a "new school" while still maintaing such high GPA's equals grade inflation.

bottom line is both people's scores need to go way up-i think ivies are a long shot (not impossible) for anyone without at least 2100, and you need a 2300+ to have a good chance. The 1730 has a 0% chance-and this correlation with the astronomical GPA will prlby hurt everyone at your schools chances (GRADE INFLATION)
