My daughter is a strong dancer with good acting/voice. She wants to strengthen her acting/voice without losing her dance to become a triple threat. She really wants NYC and has been accepted to PACE commercial dance already. She LOVES BOCO (went there for summer program). Any thoughts on the comparisons between these two musical theater programs?
I personally like BOCO because my D is also a pianist and I want her to be in a program that requires her to keep this up. Obviously if your child went to BOCO they wont know PACE but maybe had friends there? or maybe chose one over the other for certain reasons? Also, any pros/cons that your child had while at BOCO would help too!
Thx! and Best of Luck to everyone as we all wait to hear!!
My daughter is at Boco mt and absolutely loves it! I don’t think most BFA’s have the dance requirements that boco has. My daughter’s roommate transferred to boco from another well known BFA due to its lack of dance (not Pace). My D was a strong dancer going in and has been very challenged (kn a good way) – she takes tap, ballet and jazz, sometimes she doubles up and boco ranks the dancers and places them accordingly (and lets them move up if appropriate at the semester). Many BFA’s do not have the dance requirements that boco has. The boco curriculum is pretty intense, she is in class from 9 am to 7 pm some days. I don’t know anything about Pace CD – but congrats on the admission! I do know two kids at Pace, one acting the other MT and both are blissfully happy – but I am not sure about specific program areas. If she is accepted to both she should go visit – do an accepted student’s day at both and her home will become clear. Oh one more thing – Pace gives a ton of $$ which makes it appealing to many as it costs significantly less.
Thanks so very much mtmamma - great feedback!!!
