Comparing GPAs

Well, to start, I am a completely driven person who one day dreams of getting into Stanford! But I am really concerned with my GPA. I go to one of the top ten public schools in the nation and I have a weighted GPA of 4.16 and unweighted of 3.85. For my school, it is pretty good. My school does not rank, but I would bet that I would be in the top 10%. But, I've seen students from other schools have 4.7 GPAs and such, which is impossible to get at my school. I was wondering if colleges (specifically Stanford) take individual high school expectations into consideration. Because I really don't want my 4.16 Gpa that I worked so hard for to be overshadowed by some 4.7 gpa that was easily earned. If anyone could straighten this out for me, that would be great! thanks!

If they are professionals, of course they take into consideration the context of the schools. Otherwise, they wouldn’t be doing their jobs, dontcha think?

Don’t worry. And congrats on your great achievements to date.

Thanks for putting my worries to rest! :)
