Comparing GPA's

So I am starting to research companies to apply for summer interships for next year, and naturally I am thinking about who else I will be comepeting against for the same job.

I know not all colleges are equal in the eyes of employers, but obviously a 4.0 from Stern is better than a 2.0 from Harvard.

My question is, all else being the same (i.e. work experience, extracurriculars, etc.), what GPA from a low target school would be equal to what GPA from a mid target school to what GPA from a high target school?

GPA’s not everything. As long as you get above the cut-off, the rest is up to you to impress the person reviewing your resume and to get that interview. After the interview, the GPA is not much of a factor. This is what I’ve both heard and seen.

I know this doesn’t answer your question, but it’s what you should probably focus on more.

Schools have different degrees of grade inflation. A 3.7 at Harvard and a 3.7 at Wharton or Princeton are very different things.
