I am considering taking the math placement test soon to get into pre-calc. To those who have taken the test, I would like to know what the test covers, how difficult is it without a calculator, and I would also like any advice anyone have to offer. Thanks!

^^ Go to the ODU website:

[Experiential Learning and Testing](http://uc.odu.edu/elt/testing/placement/)

Scroll halfway down the page and look for “Practice for the Math Placement Test”. ODU has a practice test and an answer key. My son took the test and scored a 60 which got him into pre-calc. They supply the calculator.

Good luck.

Thank you!!

If you score above a 70 on the COMPASS test I think you can get into Calc I. Plus, ODU will give you 6 credits for passing pre-calc. Downside- you can only take the test twice per semester. It’s not timed, so take your time.
