I am planning on minoring in mathematics and chose a calculus class for this coming semester. I saw last year’s syllabus for calculus I, and it says I have to have above 79 on the COMPASS test. I don’t know what that is, if it has anything to do with my SAT score.
I am a rising freshman, by the way.
Presumably, it is a math placement test that they give to new frosh during the summer or just before classes start.
You may want to try the free quiz at http://www.math.buffalo.edu/rur/rurci3.cgi to check your knowledge of necessary precalculus concepts that you need for calculus 1. Those which you have difficulty with you may want to review.
