competition for class of 2017?

How competitive do you guys think the admissions for the class of 2017 (so next year's high school seniors) will be this fall for the top schools? *in comparison to previous years

Don’t see any reason it will buck the trend: more competitive, less predictable.

I’m hoping it won’t be to bad, I really want to get into some top colleges.

I think its gonna be less competitive in my opinion. But that’s only because of my class in the school I go to which is like #57 in the country isn’t as competitive next year as it was this year.

All you’ll get is people giving their personal opinion of how their school or friend group is somehow representative of all high schools in the US. Like entomom said, no reason to think it’s going to somehow get easier. And extremely competitive international applications continue to rise…

Pretty much what everybody else said already. Each pool of applicants gets larger and larger yet the number of spots in top colleges really can’t keep up. The competition is either going to stay the same or get tougher - there’s really unlikely the competition is going to loosen up.
