Competition for Marine Biology?

Because Scripps has such a fantastic reputation I was interested in applying to UCSD for my undergraduate years. However, I was wondering if the large amount of graduate students will detract from my opportunities as an undergraduate. Would you say that undergraduates generally have a lot of competition for research opportunities/lab time?

I don’t think it’s competitive, one of my kid’s roommate major in Marine Biology.

There are a lot of grad students, it’s true. But there are so many vast and varied opportunities for research that undergrads usually don’t have any issues getting involved. If you’re interested in undergraduate research, UCSD should definitely be one of your top few choices.
