I know a lot of people who applied to UT at my school last year (I go to a small private school in Dubai) but they were rejected, so I'm just wondering if the chances of getting into UT depend on what major you're applying to. I'm sure that the engineering and nursing programs for example are very competitive but I applied to the undergraduate studies undecided so I'm just wondering how competitive it is getting into that program compared to the other ones!

The major you apply to has a major role! Engineering, McCombs school of buissness, & Nursing are the hardest to get into so higher GPA(3.8+) & A’s math courses like Calc, & letters of recommendation etc. are crucial to admission. However schools like UGS or CNS are much less competitive and really only look at your GPA mostly (3.5+) to determine admission. Making A’s in college math classes prior to admission looks really good.
