Competitive Class Selection

I am in my sophomore year of community college in California and plan to transfer to Texas A&M for Petroleum engineering in 2014. So far I have a 4.0 GPA and am definitely planning to take Chem, Calc 2, and Physics in the Fall. I am planning on taking two more classes to which I can choose from Statistics, Linear Algebra, Technical Writing, and Physical Geography. So from those four listed, which two should I take to improve my chances of admission into TAMU. I was thinking to take Statistics and Linear Algebra because engineering is so math intensive but on their website it recommends Technical Writing for transfer students (Which I could take over winter). All I want to know is what would look most appealing to admissions when I apply. Thanks in advance.

Call or email their transfer adviser and ask.

On a side note:
I know for a fact chem, calc 2 and physics is a brutal load in itself, as I did all 3 together. I would suggest you be careful in overextending yourself and ruining that 4.0. In terms of easiness, Physical Geography should be the least time consuming.

Sorry, It was Physical Geology I was considering. I have a very solid work ethic and recently go laid off from my job so I will devote all my time to school.

Physical Geology shouldn’t be too time consuming and is also required for PetE. With the exception of crystallography, most of physical geology is memorization with a bit of application.
