Competitive Major

<p>If I fill in a competitive major in my UW online application and get into UW but does not apply for departmental admission, does that mean I am still being admitted into UW just that I will be in the pre-major?</p>

My understanding is that you can get admitted to couple of departments from the get-go - compsc and either bioeng or chem eng. I am not 100% sure on this. Unofficial transcript that I am able to see shows desired college and major. For major it just says pre science.</p>
