Competitive Public School

My high school has alot of the cream of the crop of my state, and our schools GPA's are relatively lower than neighboring schools. I'm top 7% of my class, however my GPA is only 3.72. Does the number 3.72 even matter, if I'm performing well enough to be in the top 7% of one of the best schools in the state?

I think you can only get so much leway in terms of difficulty of your school. I'm not sure if adcoms keep track of the creams of the crop for every state either.

In anycase, you're top 10% of your class anyway. No worries. :)

is that weighted or unweighted just wondering

weighted, meaning when they recalculate it... it'll be a little lower

Don't colleges look at your grades in context of the opportunities at your school?
If you took advantage of the opportunities (took most rigorous courseline), then the gpa won't be a disadvantage.

Yeah, my school has the number 1 rated AP program in the state.... and I took one of the most rigorous cirriculums available. Minus like AP Music Theory, and AP Art, and some of those other crazy classes....
