Competitive Schedule?

I'm not really concerned about my other stats, but I am slightly worried about my schedule. I plan to apply to top schools (Duke, Northwestern, Wash U, Princeton EA, etc) as well as a couple safety schools. My high school does not offer many APs to underclassmen, so my earlier schedules may seem a bit lack luster. I have worked very hard to take the most challenging courses available to me..

Freshman:
College Prep English 9
College Prep Geometry
College Prep World History
College Prep Physical Science
Health
P.E
Intro to Art

Gpa: 3.75

Sophomore:
College Prep English 10
College Prep Algebra 2
AP US History
College Prep Biology
Film and Literature
Psychology
French 1

Gpa: 4.0

Junior:
Honors English 11
Pre-Calculus (weighted)
AP Statistics
Chemistry
Physiology (weighted)
French 2
Philosophy 101 (dual enrollment college course)

Gpa (based on 1st semester): 4.7

Senior (planned):
AP English Literature
AP Calculus AB
AP Psychology
AP American Government
AP Biology
Modern Literature
French 3

(As for foreign language, I had started freshman year, however due to a complicated moving process that made me lose almost a month of school, I was unable to enroll in French 1 as a freshman at my new school. )

Thank you for your input. I am scheduling my senior schedule this week and would like to know that I'm choosing the best classes. I originally planned to take AP Chemistry instead of AP Psychology, but it was just announced that they added AP Psych to the offerings and I thought it might be more interesting to me...

Your course load is definitely competitive, despite not taking APs in your freshman year. Just keep your GPA up and get a 2150/32+ on your tests and you’ll have a decent shot at those schools.

My thread (chance pls.): http://talk.collegeconfidential.com/what-my-chances/1610985-chances-for-vanderbilt-unc-nyu-uf-and-duke.html#latest

I’m also applying to top schools and I have a similar schedule to you. However, I’m taking AP Chem and APUSH this year (junior year). Don’t take AP Chem if you’re taking AP Bio. Senior year, I’m taking AP Econ, AP Physics C, AP Bio, AP Comp Science, and AP Calc BC. I just recommend that you take a different class instead of Modern Lit unless it is required or you really want to do it.

Does not matter what your school weights-- only matters what the college considers an advanced class. Keep that up and with 31+/2100+ Sat/ACT, you’ll have a decent shot, if your ECs also match this

Chance me back

@Hawkace I’m only considering taking it because it’s a strong subject for me. I originally planned to just leave it at my APs to reduce any unnecessary stress, but I figured, since I read so much anyway, it might be interesting. I’m deciding between that and another dual credit course, possibly in ethics or interpersonal communications.

What do you plan to major in? If modern lit relates to your major, then take it, otherwise, try to see if you can do something else.

At the moment, I’m deciding between Psychology and Biology. Possibly a minor in English.
