I’m a junior right now, starting to embark on my college selection process. I consider myself a fairly good student… Um, at least, good enough to consider applying to Bowdoin (not that I’m implying I will get accepted - at all). And I understand Bowdoin’s academics are challenging. The only thing is that I enjoy learning for the sake of learning, meaning I’m not competitive with other students. I don’t ask what my peers get for grades, and I do not want to go to a school in which students are grade-eaters.

For what it’s worth, I’m not trying to go to Med school or Law School anything stereotypically overly-competitive. I’m really interested in some of the schools that are a part of the CETE (Consortium for Excellence in Teacher Education), and Bowdoin seems to be one I can see myself attending…

My question is: ** Are the students at Bowdoin College competitive? If I were to attend, would I feel like I am competing with my peers to get good grades?**
