Competitiveness of Econ Major at UCLA

Okay, so I know a lot of people have probably asked this, but I have researched it and haven't been able to get a solid answer. And now I'm hearing rumors and its sort of freaking me out.

I'm a bio major (first-year) and am planning on switching to the Econ major. I have (right now) a 3.85 GPA.

What are my chances of getting into the major and how competitive is it? Also, if you get a A- or B+ in Econ 1 are you screwed? Any general tips or advice would be greatly appreciated.

Econ is simple as hell.
Biz-Econ is the one that has a little competition, but not that much at all. You need a 3.3 primary score (formula you can look up - just google it). The one’s who don’t meet Biz-Econ standards fall back to regular econ.

If you have a 2.0, you CAN be an econ major.

Yeah the Econ classes are generally not that competitive. Some are curved, some aren’t.

^Econ classes are practically the same as Business Econ classes with a few exceptions. -.-

Even when Econ classes are not curved, the class average is usually still close to a B or B-.
