Competitve transfer majors at UCD?

Hi everyone! :)

I was wondering if Psychology is a competitive major at UC Davis for transferring? I still have Statistics and one more psychology class left to take but other than that i am done with all my pre-reqs. I am prob going to have a 3.6 or higher when I transfer, but i am scared that someone who has already completed statistics in the fall will be admitted over me.

Any help would be appreciated!

You’re pretty much set. I think Davis’s average transfer GPA is like a 3.3 or something.

I agree that you will likely get in, but while didn’t you TAG and make it a sure thing?

Thanks @bhav007 and @Yenmor i hope so!

@Yenmor my counselor told me that since i didn’t complete my Math req in the fall I couldnt TAG with UC Davis.

I am sure you will be fine. I looked at the TAG requirements for Davis and that is not a requirement. Please don’t listen to that counselor anymore. Good luck this semester!

@Yenmor No way! My heart just sank. I wish I would’ve done my own research instead of trusting my counselor.Thanks for the info and good luck to you too!

here is some really useful info, <a href=“University of California Counselors”>University of California Counselors;

Page 10 and 11 highlight the highly selective majors for each school. Be sure to check out other info as well (the other pages); they hve some really useful information; I remember when I first saw that PDF, i was like “Woah! This has some incredible info”

It looks like psychology is a highly selective major, but still, with that GPA, I think you are set.

Getting into Davis isn’t a problem. But from what I hear, it’s harder to survive in it. Your GPA is competitive so you should be a-ok
