Compilation Of Correct Answers (cr)

Could anyone give the questions and/or the incorrect (assumingly) answers for the answers below? I cannot remember them for my life and the 17 days are really drawing out slowly! ><

secluded and isolated
genuine conviction
fanciful
fundamental for simple
sunlight shining on the ground
-People (the second "People", line 36, choice C)
-people are privileged
-*publicly denounced

I still think parents is the answer .. lol.. we will see in 17 days..you guys are probably right..

The answer should not be parents. The question was something like "the author considers cirq-de-soleis a success because:" and the passage had a line that went something like "the financial decisions proved to be brilliant. By eliminating pricey animals they were able to..." It was a success because of its financial decisions at the beginning, according to the author. The article made no mention of the word parent, and it made a big point in stating it switched the target group from kids to adults, not kids to parents. I remember I spent a long time on this question.

I agree. Cirque du Soleil was definitely "shrewd financial decisions." Now can someone please explain to me how "genuine conviction" is correct? I was almost positive it was "confess a level of self-absorption." The speaker of that passage was a woman reflecting on her childhood, so she didn't maintain that conviction. What she was doing was confessing a level of self absorption from when she was younger. That's what I got out of it, but of course I could be wrong.

I also was about to bubble "express a level of self-absorbtion", but then changed it. I believed, as I hope the CollegeBoard did as well, that the point of her using that statement was to further express the fact she truly believed within herself that everyone was placed there for her, or express a "genuine conviction" to this belief. I do not think the point of her statement was to admit the fact she was self-absorbed at that point in time, as it just did not fit the mood and direction her piece was going as well as it was never mentioned before or after that point.

Yeah I see what you're saying...I had genuine conviction and then changed it because of the afore mentioned reasoning, and I was relatively certain I was right. I still think she was confessing a level of self-absorption, although "genuine conviction" could have technically been the "better" choice. "Self absorption" carries connotations of selfishness, however, even though that's not really what it means. All children are generally self-absorbed, and think the author may have been trying to express this. Its difficult to say, really, and it is slightly unfair because one cannot be sure whether it is a general conviction that the author currently possesses or one that she possessed as a child. Unless the question made that clear - I can't recall the exact wording. I still honestly think it could be either one, but general conviction is probably right. Ugh. -1

With the question with the answer of tenacity (the girl went through many obstacles etc,), was an answer choice something with a circum?

Circumspection? ^

does anyone remember the question/answer to the question that had "icy indifference" as an answer choice?

^ WHAT? What the heck was that an answer to?

yea i think it was circumspection. Was that an answer choice to the tenacity question?

can someone tell me what was 'people publicly denounced' about?????

^ Um, tenacity was the answer to that question.

@jtop - I think it was the advertisement paired passage one... about the signs or something. Or maybe the Lake one... ? (those who wanted it to remain pristine?)

lol...i think that might have been in my experimental CR section then

Yea so circumspect definitely was an answer choice to the question which tenacity was the answer?

oh. so it was lake passage? not the garbage?
what were choices other than people publicly denounced?

^ Sorry, don't remember.
How many do you think you got wrong on CR?

more circumspect was answer choice to the question with "less evenhanded"

i think i got 2 or 3 wrong..

ok.. so what was this sunlight shining on the ground question?
