For the question that had the table of characteristics for the different organisms, which organelle did the prokaryotic organism have?

wow, this thread is very inactive comapred to the ones in previous administrations!

If anyone took the E section, the answers i remember
-graph about population = exponetial curve
-graph shows that they are in nonlimited enviroment
-succesion - first would be lichen
-gymnosperms (sp?) - lack flowers
-chart about misquito larva in solution shows that even a very small amount of (chemical) is toxic
-bacteria in cow - mutalism

i can't remeber anymore but if you have a question about E section I think I knew all the answers except one of them (the first one)

Question about Hawaii
Bascially question asked which answer did not contribute to the wide variety of (drosphilla or whatever) on the island.
-Island, isolated
-Volcanic flows, isolate certain patches of land
-Island developed over ocean/(earth) hot spot
-Many different plant species on island
-??????
I put that the island developed over ocean hot spot wasn't a contributor. I thought different plant species would provide different ecosystems.. so whatever that thing is (a misquito?) could evolve into serveral different species, each adapted to specific plants.

Another random answer I remember
Which cell doesn't have nucleus at maturity - red blood cell

other random questions for molecular:
1)the one about father being recessive for an autosomal trait:
a) 0%
b) 25%
c) 50%
d) 75%
e)100%

2) the one about A^1A^2 X A^3A^2

a) 0%
b) 25%
c) 50%
d) 75%
e)100%

what did you guys put for these?
also, does anyone know any of the answers for the last two experiments in the molecular bio part?

wasn't it...
1. E
2. D

And for the hawaiin question, I couldn't decide between hot spots and plants, which one is it????????

iono i put plants one

on question 3 of the core:

What does the frog have to breath with that the snake doesn't? (or something to that effect)
I put skin, because (and i haven't checked this) frogs can breath through their when in water, but snakes can't. I don't know if either does/doesn't have lungs though....

you're right derek, see-

I guess either choice is ok then... But did the question say "frog"? I don't remember X_X. I just remember putting skin...

EDDDDIT- I have a feeling that the curve s gonna be HORRENDOUS!!!! Everyone is doing tooo good, and the test was pretty easy... AHHHHH!!

i really hope your wrong... i hope the curve is as generous as the october one = )

Flapping ears cools you. HOW WOULD EXERCISING VIGOROUS LOWER YOUR TEMP...that's the answer !

i put exercising wouldn't do it. flapping ears and everything else does cool a person/animal

i'm hoping for a great easy nice curve too :D i left at least 4 blank

does anyone know any of the answers for the last two experiments in the molecular bio part?

OK.

What the heck was the coelem one?

The menstrual isnt that monthly throughout life for women? or the big E word? and WHY?

The hawaii one is it hot spot mantle thing?

The graph with the parmecia or amoeba...HOW IS THAT EXPONENTIAL?
It was a straight line? Isnt that additive? It was not hyperbolic or anything.

The mosquito one....what was not done? Was it biological magnification or dose effect.

I said the E word answer for menstrual cycle (bc of menopause)

And for the Hawaii one, I said it was the hot spot

Does anyone know the answer about the organelle in the prokaryote?

ribosomes?? Oh wait, I don't remeber the question :).

i think it was ribosomes.

They wanted what a prokaryote and eukaryote both had. It wasn't golgi apparatus or lysosome for sure, and mitochondria i think was the other one and that is like it's own little cell, so i put ribosomes.

The question was something like, "which of the following organelles would organism three (which was not a eukaryote) have?", the options were something like :
-ribosome
-endoplastmic reiculum
-chloroplast
-mitochondria
