complete crap?

my friend told me something completely disheartening and ABSURD today. =(
she said her counselor told her penn doesnt accept anyone with anything lower than an A on his or her transcript

load of bs?

Obviously.

That person should be bound, flogged, then set ablaze.

Well, let's not kill her just yet.
That MAY be the case at her school, but Penn certainly allows leeway if you happen to attend a competitive and well-known high school.

hahahah she was like 'JUST ONE B AND YOU'RE OUT OF THE RACE' or so her counselor supposedly said

that's ridiculous! i have an unweighted 3.9 out of 4.0 and i had a 90 last year, but my rank is still very high. i have serious doubts penn would put that much importance on a single grade

..at least i hope

Sadly, Penn admits to putting emphasis on your grades first, then your SATs.
Think about that.

sooo .. are u telling me that if i got a B+ one quarter in math in sophomore year amidst all other A's .. that im out of the race for penn? i dnt think ive even heard that for like yale or princeton

not true. everyone in my school with a 3.7 (2 or 3 B's) is guaranteed admission to penn.

but then again, i go to...yeah. that school.

a B can't hurt.

^
Exelcer?

And no, Eri, I don't mean that. I'm just saying that grades are important, but so is the rigor of the class.
Don't worry, my freshman year from Australia, when transferred to GPA, is a load of Bs, making my cumulative GPA 3.8. Am I out of the race? Hope not, lol.

I had a question- In IB grades, i got a 5 in French B. could that raise a couple of eyebrows?

Hogwash, I got lots of Bs and I got in.
