Complete my AS-T over summer?

My CC Summer session registration is May 4th. Should I register for 2 courses, Econ 102 (Macro) and Math 120 (Stats), to complete my AS-T in Business Administration since I already applied to Cal Poly, Pomona and Cal State Fullerton last November? Is it too heavy a load for summer or should I just be done with CC?

I applied to CPP and CSUF in November with plans on completing my Golden 4 and AS-T this spring. It turns out I’ll complete my Golden 4, but not my AS-T. CPP waitlisted me and CSUF is still deciding. I don’t know if completing an AS-T will matter at this point. If I don’t get into either, I thought about applying to CSUEB online degree program but will I still need the AS-T?

  • I need the above 2 classes to complete my AS-T in Business Administration
  • I've already received an AA in Bus Admin (but not UC/CSU transfer ready)
  • Completing my last Golden 4 this spring will complete my IGETC
  • Completing the 2 AS-T courses left will also give me 2 more AA's (Econ & IDS Sci/Math) and an AS-T
  • Completing the Math 120 course will also replace a UW I received from a previous college

My stats are:
CC xfer units: 46 (1.9 GPA from 2 CSU’s and 2 other CC’s from over 20 years ago)
CC inst units: 40 (4.0 GPA)
Cum GPA: 3.0
Xfer GPA: 3.8
Major GPA: 4.0

despite your great GPA, you didn’t meet the requirements of having completed the courses on time. I am surprised the didn’t reject you completely. Given where you are - I’d suggest a face to face visit with the admissions and CPP and CSUF to see that you can do to nudge them in your direction. They are the only people who can answer your questions for sure.

@NCalRent Thanks, that’s probably the way to go. I’d be guessing and it’s probably time I meet them anyway. I live a few miles away, but haven’t even visited either campus, except for CSUF when I dropped off my unofficial transcripts for Fall. I need to do it before May 4 for my CC registration. Thanks again!

Today, my CC academic advisor told me to only register for the ECON 102 course over the summer since I’m still waiting for decisions from CPP and CSUF. If by chance I get accepted, that course will transfer when my final transcripts are sent. If I don’t get accepted to either, I’d still be progressing my AD-T. If I reapply again in the fall and register for the MATH 120 course, I can restate my AD-T is in progress for completion before transferring… though my plan B was to enroll in an online Business Admin program elsewhere (Penn State, CSUEB, Oregon State Univ, etc…)

Any thoughts?
