<p>I agree.</p>
<p>A student who knows that he won’t qualify for need-based aid and who knows his parents won’t pay $55k per year, is wasting his time applying ED…and then ED becomes a distraction from the real task at hand…which is coming up with a list of schools that could likely work and will work out for him financially. </p>
<p>ED at full need schools seems to work well for a few different groups:<br>
- kids who can pay full-freight;<br>
- Kids who are low income w/o complicated situations;<br>
- kids who can pay their IM-calculated “family contribution” and have some flexibility paying those amounts.</p>
