Please bear with me, but I just do not know what to make of this. A kid at school has been talking about these so called "free sites" that give you free items if you get other people to "complete an offer" for you, that being a 30-free trial of Netflix or something of that nature. After checking into it, I am starting to convince myself that this actually may be legit. Have any of you done such a site or know anything more about it? Provided the responses are positive and that it is legit, how would you guys all feel about teaming up on such an effort? As I said in the topic, I know this is completely out of left field, but I just can't stop thinking about it!!!

they are stupid, dont waste your time, money, and brain space.

If it sounds too good to be true, it probably is.

Free_ipods is legit. Two of my friends actually completed it.

the company basically uses the pyramid scheme to market. But yes, it is real.

yep, my friend and I actually recieved an ipod early last year from **s.com. I did my research, gratisnetworks, now called freepay, the company that runs **s, is the only truly legit "free site."

All these posts are very reassuring. Thanks for everyone who responded. Since it seems that freepay is a legit deal is there anyone interested in teaming up to "complete offers?" I can know I will have a tough time getting friends to believe in this, so, maybe the best way is to find people who do. Feel free to PM me or post here.

Well since there is only 1 prize, sharing it can get really ugly....

I am not sure if many people will attempt to help one person to get the item....

well I know the I-pod site is legit...my friend got one. As far as the other sites go, I signed up for one and was literally getting 900 spam messages a week. I was forced to get a new email. So just don't use an email address you care about for those offers.

Well, duh, that's why you have six people set up their own accounts and since each one needs five friends, they can all help out each other. What a deal. =)

Although the free iPods are legit (I have four friends who were able to complete the process), starry_eyed is right, you do get quite a lot of spam, so when you sign up, sign up with a different e-mail account (one that you normally do not use). Also, the iPod deliveries are a bit slow, so it will take a while to receive them.

hmm they are giving out that many? i am quite dubious that its that easy to just get an ipod like that...

You have to complete an offer, along with five other friends (five other offers). Therefore, a total of six offers must be completed before you can receive your iPod. There used to be free offers, but now it seems like you have to pay at least $5.00 or so (Can someone confirm this? I don't see any offers that you don't have to spend money on.) for the offer. The BlockBuster offer is best, or so I heard. The company earns money through the offers, I think.

I know they do but its scary that they can earn that much off per person to cover the cost PLUS make at least some sort of profit.....

but then on the other hand, some google key words cost 35 bucks a click....

Well, if you think about it, there are 243452333 people that are attempting to complete (or completed) the offer(s) for the free iPod. Interesting to see how a little music device can be so influential.

Yeah, I just assumed I would be getting some unwanted email so I did use a junx designated address. I understand it would not be reasonable to ask any of you, just purely out of the goodness of your hearts, to do all these offers for me. My question is, if any of you all are doing any of these sites, could we like do offers for eachother. Like, I complete an offer for x, and he or she does the same for me?

I have an account, but I haven't completed an offer. It's been like what, a year now?

that is a good start. If you want to complete that site, and need a referral you know where to find one :)

It's set up so that you can't just complete each others' referrals. You can get your account shut down for it. It would be too easy otherwise.

I understand that freepay wants people who are truly somehow connected to the account holder and who are interested in the offer the sign-up for, but I have never heard that completing referrals for one another, ie trading, violated the terms and conditions of the site. I mean, I have searched the web and found forums dedicated to trading referrals, it must be acceptable.

It is too easy to receive an iPod actually. I have friends who have planned their six-friend network out and completed offers. If they do shut down accounts for this, then there are a number of people that can get away with it, obviously.

Can you just create 6 fake email accounts on Yahoo, and use those?
