FAFSA asks:
Student grant and scholarship aid reported to the IRS in your parents' adjusted gross income. Includes AmeriCorps benefits (awards, living allowances, and interest accrual payments), as well as grant and scholarship portions of fellowships and assistantships

Do I enter the amount from box 5 of form 1098-T?

Did you put that amount on your tax return or your parents. In my experience, the scholarship income MUST be on the student income; the tuition payments not offset by scholarships can go on either parent or student return.

So, first decide if you are answering for yourself or your parent. Secondly, yes box 5 would be the $$$ you enter on FAFSA- this should reduce your EFC as that income does not count against you
